Most learning apps measure success by time on screen. EduPlay does the opposite: a session ends by itself after ten minutes, with a friendly goodbye.
The interesting design work was the ending: it has to feel like a natural pause, not a punishment, so the goodbye is warm and the next session is just as easy to start.
Without the pressure to keep children playing, the puzzles could be slower and kinder — like a balance scale that teaches equality before showing numbers.
Sometimes the most respectful feature is a stop button you never have to press.
